Men’s Style: As Seen On….Californication

Friday, January 13th, 2012

hank moody

For those who may not know, Hank Moody is the main character of the show Californication and is the smoothest ladies man currently on television.  So what’s Hanks story?

Occupation: Writer

Signature look: Black T Shirt and dark denim jeans paired with a sport jacket (Dressed Up) up or a leather jacket (Casual) and of course his signature sunglasses and Blundstone boots.

The Hank Moody look is easily achievable with the help of Blundstone, but whether or not it’ll improve your robot-like approach to women is whole other story.

Menswear: Bags of Style

Monday, December 19th, 2011

All men of style know that a bag has become the necessary accessory. It is no longer an item reserved just for only the ladies; men’s bags are essentially manly, attractive, and ideal additions to any man’s wardrobe. If your thinking of dabbling in the black hole of men’s bags but don’t quite know which one would suit you best, then repeat this phrase after me ‘Can I get the Bed:Stu Tan Shawn Tote please?!’ There, that was easy wasn’t it?

This tote is a modern take on the classic briefcase. The Shawn Tote is the utmost in casual business attire with its washed canvas look, leather detailing, large functional pockets, and adjustable shoulder (which gives this tote a contemporary edge). If purchased, this bag will add a touch of laid-back masculinity to any casual work wear.

Men’s Style: Workwear

Monday, December 5th, 2011

Workwear – not the suited and booted kind but workwear that’s worn while boilers are stoked, screwdrivers are turned, and paint is stroked on walls — has become a look that’s taken the catwalk by storm this autumn/fall. No matter if you choose to dismiss it or not, it has none-the-less entered the realm of being called a trend for A/W 2011.

The key pieces defining the trend are dungarees, coveralls, and overalls. Make no mistake gentleman, this trend is for people who want to do something a little different and is not for the faint hearted. But, a look cannot be complete unless your footwear completes the your outfit so step forward the manly Timberland Earthkeepers Rugged lace-up boots.

The Timberland Earthkeepers Rugged lace-up boots feature a recycled rubber sole and even organic laces. Green designs don’t mean dull products. Right now for the few in the know, it’s about shunning that polished look and instead making a clear statement that you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and get down and dirty…

Men’s Style: Boots with Attitude

Tuesday, November 29th, 2011

Just arriving at platform 9¾  from the Brooklyn Station is the Men’s Offbeat Ankle Boot – Black Rustic by: Bed:Stu. Meticulously hand-crafted and fresh from their creative little hands in their design studio and warehouse in Bedford Stuyvesant. Like the Rocky Horror Picture Show, Bed:Stu boasts it’s own cult following with its fans. Their boots are a little like their prospective owners, distressed, worn, soft, comfortable and one of a kind.

Because of Bed:Stu‘s organic tanning process, all of their shoes have different characteristics which give each piece it’s own individuality and identity, making it authentic just like you. You get the feeling looking at the Men’s Offbeat Ankle Boot, with it’s classic styling and it’s unapologetic attitude, that you don’t choose the boot; they choose you (A bit like the scene where Harry Potter goes to the wand shop to get a new wand).

These Men’s Offbeat Ankle Boots are built to last a lifetime, with proper care, and can be handed down to their rightful heirs. What the hell, if you love them that much, take them with you!

Men’s Style: Chris Brown Rocks Palladium

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011

chris brown

Palladium was founded in 1920 in the fledgling aviation industry to make tires.  Their expertise was so advanced that soon the majority of Europe’s aircraft were using Palladium tires. After World War I, the demand for tires died down, thus Palladium decided to open a plant in Pont De Cheruy, France to start producing footwear. Soon, the legendary Pampa boot was born from their infamous tires.

Today, the time-tested design are as relevant as ever, combining over 60 years of authenticity with modern manufacturing. The Palladium Pampa Tacti boots are here and ready to help you dance like Chris Brown. Ok, maybe that’s a bit of stretch but we can dream can’t we? Chris Brown and his entourage recently hit the stage wearing a spread of Palladium styles with Brown himself wearing the Palladium Pampa Tacti boots. Bown is looking fffresh in the Palladium Pampa Tacti boots, so why not treat yourself?! Oh and by the by, the dancers and entourage cost extra.

Men’s Style: Heavy Duty Boots

Monday, November 21st, 2011

Unless you’ve been living under a rock or are simply a recluse, you may have noticed that winter is upon us. It’s time to say goodbye to your deck shoes, sandals, and flip-flops (well, it’s say goodbye or wave goodbye to your circulation), as it’s time for your footwear to get serious.

Think construction, think industrial, tough leathers and tougher soles. This fall/winter it’s all about the tough looking boot. So whether you’re trudging through the wet, the muddy, the windy or the icy, go for a lace-up classic to achieve that look. Remember opt for the weathered brown leathers to remain understated.

You can slip them on for a quick stroll or throw them in your backpack for an impromptu day at the beach. Men’s Style: Go Wild in the Country…

Monday, November 7th, 2011

“The best boots ever made!” — That’s what Randy Merrell’s customers were saying back in 1981. Backpacker Magazine named them “the most comfortable and functional boots in North America.” That’s high praise indeed.

The word was out and like all viral reputations theirs grew. Today, Merrell is much more than a boot company. They’re the gear that gets you out there, from city streets to mountain trails and somewhere in between. So if you want to go wild in the country or city but want to look good then take a look at Merrell’s Wilderness Canyon Hiking Boots for starters.

Merrell’s Wilderness Canyon Hiking Boots are made for walking, taking this seasons heritage look to a whole new level. They’re constructed with a waterproof leather upper and ultra-light Vibram Wilderness sole, featuring a Good-Year Welt construction that’s both timeless and durable. Team with a pair of corduroy trousers, either a tweed jacket with leather elbow patches or knitwear with elbow patches for that just stepped out of the countryside look. So if you want some advice, take a hike. But do it in style.
