Where Wear: New Year’s Eve Men’s Style

Thursday, December 29th, 2011

new year's eve

It may be easy for women to find New Year’s Eve shoes, but for most men the task is daunting. Here is a brief guide to NYE shopping for Men:

1. Stick to basic black, which goes with everything and is classic.

2. Don’t spend more than $150 on shoes you most likely won’t wear more than a handful of times per year.

3. Oxfords, loafers, and evening sneakers are your friend.

4. For the love of all things fashionable, match your belt to your shoes!

The One, Two, Threes of Socks

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011

Socks are no longer  just for keeping cozy come winter, they have become a fashion accessory staple.

One. Cozy up with a cup of coffee and keep your toesies warm with this must-have winter accessory.

Two. Hipsters have perfected the art of rolled up pants with printed socks. Don’t let Williamsburg take credit for this trend, spread the sock love.

Three. The highly debate issue of socks with high heels still raises questions among many. Why? Because, much like wearing white after Labor Day, there is an unspoken rule about NOT wearing socks with open sandals or heels. But, rules were meant to be broken so put your fashion sense to the test this winter.

Now that you know the one, two, threes of socks, we’re going to spill the beans about our favorite sock brand, Darn Tough: They come with a lifetime guarantee. Yes, that means no matter how stinky or hole-y they get, you’re covered!

Menswear: Bags of Style

Monday, December 19th, 2011

All men of style know that a bag has become the necessary accessory. It is no longer an item reserved just for only the ladies; men’s bags are essentially manly, attractive, and ideal additions to any man’s wardrobe. If your thinking of dabbling in the black hole of men’s bags but don’t quite know which one would suit you best, then repeat this phrase after me ‘Can I get the Bed:Stu Tan Shawn Tote please?!’ There, that was easy wasn’t it?

This tote is a modern take on the classic briefcase. The Shawn Tote is the utmost in casual business attire with its washed canvas look, leather detailing, large functional pockets, and adjustable shoulder (which gives this tote a contemporary edge). If purchased, this bag will add a touch of laid-back masculinity to any casual work wear.

Men’s Style: David Beckham Rugged in Red Wing

Wednesday, December 7th, 2011

beckhamred wing

I may be a girl but I know a thing or two about what I want to see on my (imaginary) man: Red Wing boots a la David Beckham. Did I mention that I wouldn’t mind if David Beckham happened to come along with with the 1907 Heritage Classic Lifestyle Moc Boots?

These rugged boots make even the most effeminate man look masculine. The timeless style and durability make Red Wings instant classics, perfect for gallivanting (do men gallivant?) in the woods or rushing off to the airport like Beckham. If you want to look even more like David Beckham, minus Victoria on your arm, pair the boots with jeans or cakis and a v-neck tee. Don’t forget the beanie, which adds to your “I just got out of bed” look.

Men’s Style: Workwear

Monday, December 5th, 2011

Workwear – not the suited and booted kind but workwear that’s worn while boilers are stoked, screwdrivers are turned, and paint is stroked on walls — has become a look that’s taken the catwalk by storm this autumn/fall. No matter if you choose to dismiss it or not, it has none-the-less entered the realm of being called a trend for A/W 2011.

The key pieces defining the trend are dungarees, coveralls, and overalls. Make no mistake gentleman, this trend is for people who want to do something a little different and is not for the faint hearted. But, a look cannot be complete unless your footwear completes the your outfit so step forward the manly Timberland Earthkeepers Rugged lace-up boots.

The Timberland Earthkeepers Rugged lace-up boots feature a recycled rubber sole and even organic laces. Green designs don’t mean dull products. Right now for the few in the know, it’s about shunning that polished look and instead making a clear statement that you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and get down and dirty…

Brand of the Day: Kickers 30% Off

Tuesday, November 29th, 2011

Black Friday: CHECK. Cyber Monday: CHECK. Now, time to get back to the Brand of the Day 30% off sales, starting today with Kickers. Women, men, AND kids rejoice because the rustic chic boots and sandals you’ve been eyeing are on sale starting today until Dec 6th.

One year prior to their foundation in 1970, founder Daniel Raufast came across a poster of the world famous show “Hair” and was intrigued by the featured youth. Noting that the jean-clad people on the poster were pictured barefoot, Daniel decided it was time to create footwear for the jean-wearer. In other words, Daniel sought out to create a style of shoes compatible with denim. Designer Jacques Chevallereau created the first “jean boot” for Kickers, ensuring the new style was the perfect companion for denim-centered looks. The new scheme became so successfully that Kickers’ productions numbers soared form 300 to 12,000 in just one month. Four years later, Raufast founded Kickers, and today, the brand can be found at retail stores in over 70 countries (including DNA Footwear!).

Grab your pocketbook because these hot sellers won’t last long at these prices!

Men’s Style: Chris Brown Rocks Palladium

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011

chris brown

Palladium was founded in 1920 in the fledgling aviation industry to make tires.  Their expertise was so advanced that soon the majority of Europe’s aircraft were using Palladium tires. After World War I, the demand for tires died down, thus Palladium decided to open a plant in Pont De Cheruy, France to start producing footwear. Soon, the legendary Pampa boot was born from their infamous tires.

Today, the time-tested design are as relevant as ever, combining over 60 years of authenticity with modern manufacturing. The Palladium Pampa Tacti boots are here and ready to help you dance like Chris Brown. Ok, maybe that’s a bit of stretch but we can dream can’t we? Chris Brown and his entourage recently hit the stage wearing a spread of Palladium styles with Brown himself wearing the Palladium Pampa Tacti boots. Bown is looking fffresh in the Palladium Pampa Tacti boots, so why not treat yourself?! Oh and by the by, the dancers and entourage cost extra.
