In cities like NYC, where people walk everywhere, continuously pounding the pavement tends to be hard on your feet — especially if you’re in heels. In this fashion capital, we forfeit comfort for the sake of style to stay current and on-trend. That usually means a lot of foot pain, but it turns out we can have the benefits of both. When you’re the oldest shoe company in the US, its not difficult to continuously draw in customers especially when you capture your audience with your brand’s exceptional attention to details. Ok guys, it’s your turn. No matter what you’ve got going on, Vintage Shoe Company has got a man’s foot covered, literally and figuratively. Their footwear selection is diverse for the kind of man you may currently be or perhaps the kind of man you want to be.
The Vintage Shoe Company Vincent Mid Calf Boot is a broken-in leather boot with a sturdily constructed toe-box that will look great on those impromptu dinner and movie dates you may spring on your date. They’re great with slim, slightly faded indigo denim and a wash & wear button-down with either a casual unlined cotton blazer or a shrunken trench as a topper.
From dinners to romantic walks – move on to the Jerry Canvas Boot, a clean ankle high boot that’s reminiscent of the Blucher boot, which was originally made for the Prussian army. The traditional open lacing gives a wider opening to the foot which makes this a cool, comfortable shoe for strolling around the city. It looks great kept simple with tapered khakis and a cool pullover.
The Hampton Boat Shoe features casual comfort with a rich deep color. Jeffrey Campbell is known for creating the most architecturally and visually gorgeous shoes. His innovatively designed sky high heels have given him the moniker of footwear genius – an appropriate title. The audacious styles from this edgy and fashion forward designer are on everyone’s wish list (yours truly included) and they will continue to be so season after season. This spring make a statement in Jeffrey Campbell’s fearless and beguiling heels. A few favorites available now are:
1. Beebee Mid Platform Shoe – this style is also known as the “Flatform”, the perfect combination of the flat and platform shoe. This style was seen all over the runways last spring and is a great alternative to the platform as well as a perfect fir for those who want the height and a level surface.
2. Rockin-Ex High Heel – this show-stopping, peeptoe leopard pony hair platform booties features Jeffrey Campbell’s modern take on a 70′s style heel. The architectural cutout wooden wedge looks amazing with skinny jeans or rolled slouchy pants.

La Bella at Coachella 2012
With Coachella on the horizon its time to start prepping festival attire. Expanding festivities for two weekends this year means 6 days of fashion bliss in a desert paradise. Fashion-wise anything goes at the Neo-Woodstock. Creativity is endless on the campgrounds from tie die tents to full body paint. Chances are your desert days will be stripped down to undergarments as the sun begins to set, leaving only your shoes to make a statement. What gal doesn’t heart cute shoes? Designers and sisters Maryam and Marjan Malakpour literally “heart them” for their spring NewbarK collection.
As a stylist, I’m always looking for unique shoes for photoshoots, as well as fashionable and comfortable ones for my own busy feet. So, when I came across this fairly new shoe line from fellow stylists, it made sense that these two would transition into shoe design.
NewbarK is a luxury collection of handmade shoes and handbags, originally launched in 2009 by the Malakpour sisters. Crafted in an artisan factory in Los Angeles, NewbarK shoes and handbags exemplify a streamlined yet contrasting use of materials – leather, canvas, felt, suede and virtually no hardware, making these shoes chic, simple and modern.
You’ll heart these flats: they fold neatly into a small carrying pouch for the city girl on the go. With an aesthetic of Moroccan baboush meets Englishman’s leather slippers, they’re a sophisticated and stylish alternative to ballet flats. Think of them as the grown up version of your weekend shoe.
