Brand of the Day: Kickers 30% Off

Tuesday, November 29th, 2011

kickers

Black Friday: CHECK. Cyber Monday: CHECK. Now, time to get back to the Brand of the Day 30% off sales, starting today with Kickers. Women, men, AND kids rejoice because the rustic chic boots and sandals you’ve been eyeing are on sale starting today until Dec 6th.

One year prior to their foundation in 1970, founder Daniel Raufast came across a poster of the world famous show “Hair” and was intrigued by the featured youth. Noting that the jean-clad people on the poster were pictured barefoot, Daniel decided it was time to create footwear for the jean-wearer. In other words, Daniel sought out to create a style of shoes compatible with denim. Designer Jacques Chevallereau created the first “jean boot” for Kickers, ensuring the new style was the perfect companion for denim-centered looks. The new scheme became so successfully that Kickers’ productions numbers soared form 300 to 12,000 in just one month. Four years later, Raufast founded Kickers, and today, the brand can be found at retail stores in over 70 countries (including DNA Footwear!).

Grab your pocketbook because these hot sellers won’t last long at these prices!

It’s time to step out of the confines of Orange County for Rachel Bilson, who unveils her first shoe collection and website Friday. Bilson teams up with long-time stylist Nicole Chavez, Steve Madden, and BeachMint to launch ShoeMint, a customized shoe-shopping site. The 30-year-old actress, formerly known by fans as Summer, is a permaent front row fashion show attendee, meaning it was only a matter of time before she tried her hand at design. Inspired by the fashion community, Bilson joins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Kate Bosworth, and Jessica Simpson in the “mint” experience.

ShoeMint launches Friday and will cater to affordable fashion seekers. The collection will be priced at $79.99 and will include leather and suede, embodying Steve Madden’s craftmenship and design.

When discussing her upcoming endeavor, Bilson remarked, “As a designer, I’m always exploring new mediums and footwear is a category I’ve always been very passionate about, especially since I’m only a size 5. More and more, people are shopping for shoes online and with BeachMint, I have the opportunity to design not just the shoes, but the full experience for our customers, which feels more personal and rewarding for me.”

We wonder who’s a shoe-in for the next mint collaboration…. only time will tell.

Right now you can earn ShoeMint credit for inviting your friends to sign up :

Collaboration Alert: Melissa + Gareth Pugh

DNA Footwear

It seems only fitting that Melissa shoes, the well-known vegan shoe line from Brazil, teams up with Gareth Pugh, the eccentric yet celebrated designer based in Paris, to create a shoe line that everyone is talking about. The rubber soles are not only bright and youthful, but they are the perfect addition to any woman’s closet. The collection features two styles, the first is a ballet flat with a zig-zag pop print (shown above). The second style is a flat gladiator-style shoe with an exoskeleton edge. The color combination for this style comes in black, silver and white.

For those of you who are fans of Gareth Pugh, but you can’t afford his pieces, this is the perfect opportunity to snatch up one of his designs. The design esthetics of the shoes are equally exciting and bold, but they won’t break your bank since they start at $110.

Budget Friendly Friday: Leopard

Friday, October 14th, 2011

leopard shoes

Get “spotted” with the hot leopard trend without going wild on your budget! All of the following shoes are under $120.

Leopard print seems to be a trend that never goes out of style—from Marylin Monroe, to Blondie, to any catwalk today. Leopard print shoes can be a subtle way of embracing the style if you don’t feel like going full body. On the other hand, a chunky leopard wedge or sky high stiletto can be the centerpiece of your outfit.

Above are three different styles of leopard print shoes that you can rock regardless of your style!

First are the flats “Madee” by Steven. These shoes give an effortlessly cool, trendy girl vibe for the laid back girl who still likes to make a statement.

Next, pump of the volume with the Madden Girl “Expoze” wedges. These shoes have a smooth, sleek profile with more muted spots which means you can wear them easily with a variety of colors.

The Paris Hilton “Regal” peep toe pumps are perfect for a party; the bright spots and jaunty bow will give your outfit some pop.

DNA Footwear offers MANY other fantastic leopard selections so you can nab a pair to match your unique style.
