One of spring 2012’s major trends is floral. Everything from clothing (floral jeans are especially hot) to accessories, handbags, etc are blooming with roses, lilies, daffodils, carnations, daisies, etc…and so are shoes. Want to fulfill your floral fantasies? Now is the time to do it, as it is making more of a diverse statement. For this season, expect to see an abundance of floral prints in unconventional fashion staples. For those of you that are somewhere in between the girly girl and the tough chick but do not want to wear a high floral heel or wedge, Dr. Martens has some great floral options for you.
Do you wear more vintage pieces? Then the jacquard floral printed Castle Flat Ankle Boot or quirky Mary Casual Low Heel Mary Janes will fit right in with your wardrobe. Do the words “artistic rebel” fit your personality? Shake things up with the Pascal Ankle Boot and for the romantic at heart, you’ll fall in love with the small delicate flowers on the 1460 W Tydee Ankle Boot and the pink rose covered with pink ribbon detail on the 1460 W Victorian Flowers Ankle Boot.

There’s a great get-fit trend going on, thanks to the initiatives from the First Lady’s fight to help end obesity and images of celebs, like Scarlett Johansson, rocking barefoot running shoes while training for Avengers last year. We’re seeing more current outdoor activities from celebs, like Orlando Bloom, Jessica Biel and Amanda Seyfried hiking Runyon Canyon Park in LA and Tobey Maguire, Pink and Carey Hart and Naomi Watts biking with their children. It all equates to having a more active lifestyle, and as the temperature increases, you may find yourself ready to move your fitness routine outside. As the desire to participate in more outdoorsy activities like running, camping and hiking increases, you’re naturally going to need the correct shoes.
One of the hottest outdoor fitness shoe trends is the barefoot shoe. These shoes enable you to be closer to your terrain (whether it’s land or water), bring out your natural stride and build greater strength and endurance. For those of you who are not quite comfortable with the barefoot shoe, Merrell has great options to help ease you in. Hike a watery trail as your feet stay firmly and flatly on the ground with the Barefoot Water River Glove; stimulate your senses and strengthen your muscles with the Lithe Mary Jane Glove, improve your balance as you walk in the Wonder Glove, and get amazing all-day comfort in the very stylish and shock absorbing Henna Flat Sandal.

In cities like NYC, where people walk everywhere, continuously pounding the pavement tends to be hard on your feet — especially if you’re in heels. In this fashion capital, we forfeit comfort for the sake of style to stay current and on-trend. That usually means a lot of foot pain, but it turns out we can have the benefits of both. Whether you go for shine with metallics or standout with a bold color or print, there are shoes that can give the look you want without sacrificing your feet.
While bright colors are super hot right now, one bold color that will always be in is red. Adding an all-over red shoe like the Hush Puppies Basis Perforated Oxford or a bold red print, like the Hush Puppies Notice Flat Sandal to your look is sure to kick up your style notch. Look sharp yet comfortable when paired with cuffed jeans, gathered shorts or chinos.

It’s almost time for beach weather, which means getting your checklist of must-haves for those glorious days at the shore – a beach-ready body, fabulous swimsuit, lots of sunblock and of course… cute shoes. One beach fashion rule that should never be broken is “No heels in the sand”. Avoid the awkward and unsteady act of your 5” heels sinking into the sand, a major fashion no-no that even celebrities are crucified for, and get your feet into some fashionable flats.

This lace covered work of art is Campbell’s avant garde translation of spring’s hottest shoe – the platform. The lace gives this sculpted beauty a vintage feel which work seamlessly when paired with maxi skirts and dresses. 5. So Much High Heel Sandal – another favorite among fashionistas, this chunky wood heel features a burlap-wrapped platform and wide braided leather straps.
