Trend Alert: Studded Evening Booties

Saturday, November 6th, 2010

With the holidays approaching the quest for the perfect going-out evening outfits begin, which of course includes accessories like shoes (Here at DNA we are likely to start with the shoes!). This season, eveningwear is all about classic looks updated with over-the-top details. One great way to spice up a simple going out get-up is by pairing it with some bedazzled accessories. A celeb favorite for this trend: Studded booties.
Ashley Olsen and Nicole Sherzinger in Report Signature bootsNicole Sherzinger (of the Pussy Cat Dolls) and Ashley Olsen rock this season’s favorite accessory with their understated evening looks, and the shoes definitely take the outfits to the next level. A studded bootie that will catch every eye is the Report Signature ‘Clarkson’ boot. With its five inch heel the Clarkson boot gives you some serious lift, but keeps you comfortable thanks to the hidden platform. The small studs that cover the entire shoe are on-trend without being completely over the top. But the best part about the Clarkson bootie: you can look like a celebrity for a reasonable price. With the glitz and glam of the studs and its classic silhouette the Report Signature ‘Clarkson’ is sure to be a hit this holiday season. We recommend wearing them with your little black dress, or skinny jeans and shiny top. You can’t go wrong with the Report Signature Clarkson boots!

Ashley Tisdale Loves Suede Booties

High School Musical singing sensation Ashley Tisdale was recently spotted wearing these hip lace-up booties while filming “Hellcats” earlier this month in Vancouver.  We love the simplicity of this great shoe, but what we love most is the suede-and-bootie combination.  So perfect for the fall season!  So with no further ado, here are some more great suede booties we love for Fall 2010.  Get ‘em before the snow starts falling and ruins all that lovely suede!

This Seychelles Bismuth high heeled bootie is a dead-ringer for Ashley’s pair.  Take a page out of her style book and pair with skinny jeans to really show them off right.

The Jane high heel wedge bootie by Chelsea Crew is another very similar shoe.  Same idea as Ashley’s, but with an adorable wedge heel instead.

This Thriller high heel bootie, also by Seychelles, is a little funkier.  Love the criss-cross leather strap in the front!

Ok, this isn’t like Ashley’s shoe at all.  But we couldn’t resist!  This Mirror Mirror bootie by Irregular Choice is pure art…shoe art, that is.

Shoe of the Week: Nina “Yaneli” Leopard Wedge Bootie

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010

Leopard print is back in a big way. How do we know? Well, Jennifer Lopez is wearing leopard print on the cover of Glamour:

Still not convinced? Think leopard went extinct in ’95?
Leopard print celeb trend

Leopard is totally back, in a big way. Almost every celebrity in Tinseltown has been spotted rocking fabulous leopard attire. Animal prints tend to come back in the fall, which makes sense when you consider how much fun fur is in the summer (hint: not fun at all). This year, the classic leopard print is making a big splash. Celebrity fans of this fabulous trend include Beyonce, Rihanna, Eva Mendez, Miley Cyrus and Mischa Barton.

But we understand. The full-body leopard look isn’t for everyone (How is it that a pattern designed for camouflage makes you so visible?). But leopard accessories are trendy without being loud, and we have the perfect shoe for the job.

The Shoe Of The Week this week is the ‘Yaneli’ ankle boot by Nina.

Nina Yaneli leopard print wedge bootie

Nina Yaneli

This peep toe wedge bootie has a hefty dose of fall trends packed in one shoe. With a heel height of four inches, the Yaneli ankle boot will definitely enhance your look, but the wedge makes it surprisingly easy to walk in. The peep toe bootie combination makes the Nina Yaneli super versatile; they can be worn basically all year with different outfits. The attention-grabbing print is a great complement to a basic look like a jeans&tank outfit or a little black dress. Keeping the leopard print in your shoe instead of your outfit allows you to rock the look in a more subtle way, making it wearable for work and other non-red-carpet settings. The Nina Yaneli leopard print bootie is the perfect accessory for this fall, adding the little splash of leopard print that every fashionista needs.

We love her awesome zebra-print tunic, of course, but what really makes the outfit: those shoes.  These Matiko wedge booties are the perfect going-out shoe for winter 2010.  We love the modern wedge shape and the sexy cutouts in unexpected places.  These wedges by Matiko are perfect for the club, and since they’ll go with everything, you can wear them with all your cool-weather outfits.

What can we say?  We think these sexy wedges will add a this-season twist to all your fave outfits for hitting the town.  See more views or buy your ownfabulous Matiko wedge heels at DNA Footwear.com.

Shoe Color Trends for Fall/Winter 2010

Monday, October 18th, 2010

The fashion gods have spoken, and they say that the hot colors for fall and winter this year will be dramatic and glamorous.  Jewel tones like dark blue, dark green, dark-violet and red will be big.  Traditional, chic black will be trendy this season, too, and the neutral shades that were so hot for spring and summer are still stylish for the colder seasons.

So without further ado, let’s jump right in and look at some great shoes in these trendy colors:

Elegant yet girly flats from J. Loren.  The rhinestone bows are so on-trend too!

How cute are these red rain boots by Kamik?  They’re sure to make you stand out on any dreary day.

Lace-up boots are big right now, and we love the military-inspired dark green of this Nine West pair.

These nude open-toe booties by Report Signature are to-die for trendy.

Deep, rich colors are perfect for fall, so lace up and step out in jewel-tone footwear!

Textured Booties and Tiny Twin Blondes

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

I always wanted to have a twin sister, as well as my own clothing line. Looks like my wish was stolen by Mary-Kate and Ashley! This week, the dynamic duo presented their fall collection to a select gallery gathering. Among the VIP invitees were Carey Mulligan, Ashley’s boyfriend (Justin Bartha,) and Chloe Sevigny. Being short in stature, the Olsen twins are naturals when it comes to choosing fantastic lifts. It was interesting that they chose to pair sandals or textured booties with almost every outfit.

The recently-popular wedge sandals made quite a splash! Their curves and padding provide extra comfort and snug support, even for small feet.  And when it came time for the heels, the twins preferred the snazzy, gladiator strap look. What’s especially great about these heels is the sexy straps; they keep your feet snugly in place so your toes can take a break from the “gripping” workout they’re used to! Also, many of the new textured booty heels are tapered, giving you even better stability.

Like in wedge sandals, wedges can also be found in all sorts of textured booties, perfect for cooler weather. For even greater lift, try the textured booties the twins use! Of course, it’s all about texture, so now you’ve got options. DNA Footwear has a huge selection of styles to choose from, everything from punk Chopper Casuals to suede Call Me Opens, so go nuts! Remember, you’re making a statement with your choice of texture. Why settle for something ordinary? No matter what the outside of your textured booties look like, make sure they feel good on the inside as well. Soft leather or suede insoles will help to ward off blisters while keeping your feet dry. So for warm, sexy & happy feet this month, Textured Booties are a sure bet!
