To get you excited about the cooler temperature, we’ve chosen 8 booties & shooties to literally die for – all budget considered!

The Bootie
Urban, ultra-chic, and high-heeled, the bootie surely has to have a special place in your shoe closet this season. Pony hair, and python-embossed leather, our heart melted for Lola Cruz and MICHAEL Michael Kors’ York booties. Whether you prefer pointed over rounded toe, pair these killer boots with leather leggings and jacket for a chic, urban rock star look that will wow your friends and foe alike.

The Wedge Shootie
Certainly more comfortable than stilettos, this season’s wedge shooties are featuring wood soles and leather craftsmanship. Our favorites? The perforated, open-toe Restricted Maiya wedge and the Bed:Stu Seville Shootie with its hand-finishing techniques that ensure your pair will be like no other on the planet!

The Combat Boot
Not only exclusive to Dr. Martens boots anymore, combat boots are now in all good fashionistas closets. Pair with denim, leggings and tights; the very popular Steve Madden Troopa is back in its classic black but also in a very rich dark green that is brand new this season. From street-chic, edgy details, to simple lace-ups, we also fall for Frye’s Veronica Combat Boot. Let your inner badass self out and get yourself a pair to rock!

The Buckled Bootie
Stud and buckle embellished straps, geo-metallic detailing, and metallic finishes, the hardware bootie is en-vogue this season. Our choice? Adrienne Maloof — Reality Star Turned Shoe Designer

Monday, December 26th, 2011

adrienne maloof

Okay, you caught me! I am a reality tv junkie, sickly obsessed with “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”. In fact, I spent most of my Christmas watching a marathon in which I fell for Adrienne Maloof’s recently launched shoe collection (see something positive does come out of it!).

Reality star, mother of three, business woman, and loving wife –many wonder how Adrienne Maloof found time to launch a footwear collection. “Renowned for her diplomatic sense of business, Adrienne received her first lessons in business from her father, entrepreneur George J. Maloof, Sr. The Maloof family philosophy — working hard, giving back, and taking care of employees.” This business sense is what drives Maloof to the utmost success in all her endeavors, including design.

The Adrienne Maloof shoe line for Charles Jourdan 2011 debuted in the beginning of December, first launching at Macys. Pulling directly from her personal (excessively huge) wardrobe, Maloof and the Jourdan team pieced together the bits and baubles of the perfect footwear collection. Partnering with charity organization Step Up, Maloof held a charity fashion show first debuting her collection on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”. Today, the collection is available at Macy’s, Lord & Taylor, Belk, specialty boutiques, Maloof’s website, and Isaay

“May you find inspiration in the big picture, but may you find love in the details.”

Where Wear? Traveling

Tuesday, December 20th, 2011

dna footwear

The holidays are chaotic enough without agonizing over what to wear while traveling. From the endless security checks to overweight baggage, prioritizing your travel attire is key.

Stay away from sky high heels and excessive buckles and instead opt for flats or booties. Nobody likes to stand in line waiting while the primadona ahead of them takes her precious time unstrapping her boots. Additionally, nobody likes being THAT girl. Make your travels less hectic and let DNA do all the work — all you have to do is pick, click, and tada! they’re yours.

Celebs Go Native with Minnetonka

Tuesday, December 13th, 2011
minnetonkaPhotography Source: Bing

There is a footwear epidemic sweeping the nation (ok, maybe just Hollywood) and its ringleader is Minnetonka. From Kate Moss to Lindsay Lohan, celebrities strut their street style for the cameras, sporting Minnetonka boots and booties. These moccasins were invented long before Kate Moss stopped eating and Lohan went to jail (for the fifth time) and will be here long after this trend has come and gone — which we don’t foresee in the near future.

The boots are perfect for a quick trip to the newsstand to pick up your weekly tabloids or for a weekend music festival. Easy to match with nearly anything you’ll find comfort in the ultra-soft suede, which only gets softer over time. Leave your stilettos behind and show your casual side with Minnetonka (paparazzi not included).
