Has the cold weather knocked at your door yet? The best thing about November is we can start wrapping ourselves in layers of clothing or thick wool sweaters and warm boots…in style, of course! One trend we’ve seen this fall is the Pendleton patterns. It has long been the go-to brand for warm, woolly blankets and Native American-inspired textiles. And recently, the company has never been more fashion-forward.
It isn’t a coincidence we’ve been seeing more of this iconic fabric hitting the streets of major American cities like New York. The high-end Portland Collection appeals to young designers, and we’ve found them scouring the archives for inspiration and creating collections for a fashion-savvy, youthful customer. The trend has even expanded into the footwear industry with footwear collaborations with the iconic Portland Collection. Its official, Pendleton has taken the fashion scene by storm!
London’s epitome of stylish sturdy footwear, Dr. Martens, has teamed up with the Oregon company to release a new collection. Results: The traditional 1460 seven-eyelet boot and their leather satchel, take a Native American twist. Born from a happy coincidence, – Dr. Martens moved its headquarters one street up from the Pendleton ones – the new collection is already trending everywhere. From the Oregon Collection’s archaic South American influence, other brands have also been inspired by the woven-wool twist of this offbeat fashion trend. Our recent obsession is the 2568′s Samosa bootie and the Southwest style of Big Buddha’s Wendy bootie.

Did you know the work “Sneaker” was created in 1916 by Keds! That’s right, Nike, Reebok etc owe this worldwide terminology to Keds.
