Many mothers and health experts ask, “how young is too young to wear high heels?”, while others like Katie Holmes Cruise find it appropriate. In a day and age where children grow up too quickly, the great debate over kid’s high heels heats up. Women wear high heels for the form enhancing features but what reason do little girls have?
Holmes defends her decision saying, “like every little girl, she loves my high heels. They are actually ballroom dancing shoes for kids. I found them for her and she loves them”. Not only does she love them but they make great press for a celebrity family — by age 5 Suri is already a style icon.
Moderation is key in this debate, which Holmes understands by allowing her daughter to wear them “on special occasions”… for god sakes she’s not wearing them to the park!
You decide: Cute or Creepy?

Whether you like it or not, how you dress says a lot about who you are and how you choose to present yourself. Facing the fact that you’re a shoe embarrassment might increase your chance at date, a job, or even a friendship — self-awareness is the first step in shoe recovery.
Athletic Shoes (ALL the time)Â – Don’t get us wrong, wearing athletic shoes sends the message that your care about your personal health and fitness but when you never take them off you’re sending a different message: “I am insecure and want everyone to know that I am athletic (even though I only run on the treadmill).”
Kitten Heels – “I use to only wear flats until I became self-conscious about my height but I’m still to afraid to take the plunge into pumps.”
Toe Shoes (NOT the ballet kind)Â – If you’re one of those individuals who wear toe shoes, you know the ones that go between each and every toe, TAKE THEM OFF and save yourself the embarrassment of our critique.
Combat Boots – We are all for the combat boot trend and are guilty of it ourselves but there is a right and a wrong way to do it. Right — Skinny jeans and a tee or a lace dress to add a touch of femininity. Wrong — Combat boots with ripped jeans, ripped shirt, and skull/cross jewelry… You’re scaring the little children.
Crocs – These go up there with toe shoes and the “slob” title. We understand they are comfortable (actually we don’t because we refuse to step a foot in them) but they send the “I don’t care about my appearance” vibe, meaning no dates and no new jobs in your future.
The shoe infractions go on and on, as do our not so nice words of advice. By no means are we criticizing you, we are pushing you to be a better you: one with confidence and class. Shoes are meant to be accents not costumes.

What would happen if UGG Australia and Giuseppe-Zanotti fell in love and had shoe babies or if Miu Miu was mad for Converse? While we don’t see any of these designers collaborating in the near future, it is fun to imagine what it would be like if our favorite brands paired up.
Ten years ago, major design houses would have laughed in your face had you suggested collaborating with another, yet today designer collaborations are common place. From designers buddying up to designers and fashion chains linking lines, designer collaborations rake in the big bucks. So why not let Frye and Sam Edelmen get cozy?!

While I may falter at times, I call for the support of all my fellow shoe lovers out there. I find the following resolutions extremely challenging but have helpful ways to push through them.
How to Keep Resolution…
Number 9. How To: Shoe Organization
Number 7. Shoe Care 101
Number 5. How To: Build Your Shoe Wardrobe
Number 3. Pump Up Your New Year’s Resolution.
I encourage every other shoe fanatic out there to keep my resolutions in mind when creating your own list for 2012. Good luck and Happy Shoe Year!

Socks are no longer  just for keeping cozy come winter, they have become a fashion accessory staple.
One. Cozy up with a cup of coffee and keep your toesies warm with this must-have winter accessory.
Two. Hipsters have perfected the art of rolled up pants with printed socks. Don’t let Williamsburg take credit for this trend, spread the sock love.
Three. The highly debate issue of socks with high heels still raises questions among many. Why? Because, much like wearing white after Labor Day, there is an unspoken rule about NOT wearing socks with open sandals or heels. But, rules were meant to be broken so put your fashion sense to the test this winter.
Now that you know the one, two, threes of socks, we’re going to spill the beans about our favorite sock brand, Darn Tough: They come with a lifetime guarantee. Yes, that means no matter how stinky or hole-y they get, you’re covered!

New Years Eve is quickly approaching and every magazine and blog is splattered with smiling faces and sparkly shoes. From Jeffrey Campbell to Miu Miu, sparkles have become synonymous with New Years and party attire but can there be TOO MANY sparkles?
Sparkly footwear is a surefire way to grab the attention of the cute guy across the room just before the ball drops but then again to your left another girl is wearing the same shoes and to your right a poor barely 21-something has been dipped in a sparkly batter. Quickly, your perfect glitter pumps are making you one in a million and not THE one.
So, the question this New Years Eve is…To Sparkle or Not To Sparkle?
